Hailing from the diverse streets of downtown New Orleans, Louisiana “PROFECY THE gOD” was born Shannon Clausen Jr. on December 17, 1990. Unlike many of today’s contemporary artists, he began honing his craft at the youthful age of eight, evidently separating his skill level and dedication to Hip-Hop from the rest. Although he is the second eldest of four brothers, he only lived in conjunction with one of his younger siblings in a single parent household managed by their mother. In 2004 a tragedy struck when his mother was diagnosed with severe anxiety, preventing her to work regularly, and forcing him to provide for himself and his family to the best of his ability. In addition, his father (Shannon Sr.) struggled with drug addiction and was occasionally seen or heard from. As a result of the aforementioned, Profecy made a vow to himself to never be like his father or a statistic in the small population of New Orleans. In effort to simultaneously grow into a better man and release his frustrations, Profecy often turns to his music as a form of release therapy:

“If you ever want to truly know me, listen to my music” Profecy explains “In life I have been blessed to see the good, the bad and the ugly. I have experienced both college and jail. I can honestly say that I have lived in every type of environment from poor, middle class, to rich. It is because of this fact that I blend in well wherever I go whether it be the slums of New Orleans or Beverly Hills.”
